U.S. Olympic gymnast Simone Biles is married to Jonathan Owens, a safety for the Chicago Bears. These two are really a power couple. They’re both at the top of their games in their sports fields, and they support each other all the time. I’m sure you remember seeing Owens missing Bears practice to fly to Paris and support his wife at the 2024 Olympics.

Now, Biles is returning that favor and showing up to a lot of Owens’ games. The Chicago Bears’ season opener at Solider Field was a huge one for Owens, because he scored his first NFL touchdown. Since Owens is on defense, getting a touchdown is a pretty rare thing, so that made this move even sweeter.

Simone Biles Reacts Sweetly to Husband’s First NFL Touchdown

During last weekend’s Chicago Bears game, the Bears were struggling against the Tennessee Titans. Right when things seemed really hopeless, defensive lineman Daniel Hardy broke through the Titans’ line and blocked a punt attempt from Ryan Stonehouse. Owens grabbed the ball and returned it 21 yards for a massive Chicago Bears touchdown. That took the Bears’ 17-3 deficit to 17-10.

Biles was watching and got super excited. She tweeted out on X, “My heart.” Also, Sunday Night Football on NBC’s account send out a post with a clip of the play and tagged Biles, asking how she felt. She responded saying that she “almost had a heart attack.” The play was really the turnaround for the entire game, too. The Bears made a comeback and walked out of there with a 24-17 win.

So, maybe it’s time to say, move over Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce. Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens are the new power couple in the NFL. Both of these couples are cute and very popular, but I do like the fact that both Biles and Owens are athletes. I’m seeing too many stories saying that the reason Swift and Kelce are working is because they are in different fields and not competing with each other, and I just don’t agree with that. I think if you work, you work. I’m sure we’ll see both ladies at NFL games this season.

Following Owens’ big touchdown, an NFL commentator actually called him “Mr. Biles,” which has since gotten people talking.

“Mr. Biles getting in there,” the commentator said in a clip posted to Instagram, which showed Owens running in for a touchdown. “Well done by him,” the sports announcer continued.

Simone Biles on Meeting Jonathan Owens

In a January 2024 interview with Vanity Fair, Biles opened up about how she met Owens. They met in 2020 on an invite-only dating app.

“I had just broken up [with someone] and my friend was like, ‘Get on Raya, get on Raya,'” she told Vanity Fair. “My guard went straight up when she said dating site,” she added. But, she met Owens on there. “The second week I met him in person,” she added, “and the rest is history. We were hooked.”

Owens told Vanity Fair of Biles that, “I just noticed her laugh.” He added, “It was just contagious. We could talk all day and we’d stayed up late, and there just wasn’t an awkward moment.”
