With Christmas comes football. The Christmas holiday is always a peak time to watch football, both NFL and college. When it comes to the NFL, they didn’t always have games on Christmas Day, but they do this year. In fact, the 2024 NFL Christmas Games schedule is packed with excitement. Two very high-profile games will be happening on Christmas, so get your eggnog and get ready to watch some football.

The Kansas City Chiefs, Pittsburgh Steelers, Baltimore Ravens and Houston Texans are all playing on Christmas Day.

2024 NFL Christmas Schedule

This December 25, NFL fans will enjoy a double-header, but watching might be a bit difficult. That’s because both games are on Netflix, so if you don’t have a Netflix subscription, you might be out of luck. That’s not to mention that most sports bars are closed on Christmas, so you can’t really easily find a spot to watch the action.

“For many years, the NFL avoided scheduling Christmas games, but that has changed dramatically, especially in recent seasons,” the NFL noted in a feature about the NFL Christmas Day games schedule. “This will be the fourth straight season with at least one game on Dec. 25 and three straight with multiple games, including last year’s Christmas tripleheader.”

The double-headers include:

Kansas City Chiefs vs. Pittsburgh Steelers at 1 p.m. ET on Netflix

Baltimore Ravens vs. Houston Texans at 4:30 p.m. ET on Netflix

The day after Christmas will also feature a game. For this one, you’ll have to have Amazon Prime to watch. The December 26 game will feature the Seattle Seahawks vs. the Chicago Bears at 8:15 p.m. ET on Prime.

NFL Christmas Day on Netflix

The 2025 NFL Christmas Day games will be streamed on Netflix, marking the first time Netflix will be streaming an NFL game. This isn’t the only year, either. Netflix has a three-year deal for exclusive Christmas Day game rights.

“The NFL and Netflix struck a three-year deal in May for the streaming service to air games on Christmas Day,” The Sports Tak noted. “This year’s doubleheader will be the first of at least three such broadcasts, with one game scheduled for each of the next two years (2025 and 2026). This partnership marks a significant step in the NFL’s expansion into the streaming space.”

Sports Takk added, “With a star-studded roster of announcers, analysts, and special guests, the NFL’s Christmas Day doubleheader on Netflix promises to be an unforgettable sports entertainment experience.”

Between having to have Netflix, Amazon Prime, Peacock, ESPN and the NFL Network, in addition to regular networks, to watch all of the NFL games this season, it’s gotten a bit ridiculous. I don’t think it’s right to make people buy all of these different services to watch the games. American football is an American tradition, and people should be able to freely watch these games. It never used to be this way. I’ve heard stories from my elders about being able to watch all the sports acts, from local NFL teams to local NBA basketball, without having to buy an extra service.
