Don’t ever count Aaron Rodgers out. Sure, he and the Green Bay Packers looked dismal earlier this season, but they’ve turned that around.
Now, Green Bay is 8-8 on the season, following a 41-17 victory against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday (Jan. 1).
After the game, he said, “Much like [when we were] 4-6, I think in [2016]. Sometimes you’ve got to fool yourself a little bit into believing a little bit more. But I definitely had faith. I was going to go down scrapping, for sure. But I do believe in the power of manifestation. And I do believe in momentum. I believe strongly in the force of the mind and when you start to believe something strongly, that some miraculous things can happen.”
Now, Green Bay has momentum, and they’re heading into a game with a team that also has momentum: The Detroit Lions. The Lions fought back from a 1-6 season to also sit at 8-8 right now.
If the Packers win on Sunday, they’re in the playoffs. If the Lions win, they’ll be in the playoffs, but only if Seattle loses to Los Angeles.
Speaking after the game on Sunday, Rodgers admitted that the Detroit Lions are a new team- and worthy opponents.
“We’ve played in a couple of those Sunday night games against the Lions over the years, but it’s not the Same Old Lions,” Rodgers said. “They were 1-6 at one point and they’ve come all the way back to 8-8. There will be a lot on the line for both teams and it’ll be exciting to line up against them.”
Let the games begin.
