Metallica keeps pulling out the surprises. The guys have been touring on their latest album, “Hardwired…to Self-Destruct,” for nearly a year, but up until now, they had never performed the track “Spit Out the Bone” live.

At their gig in London earlier this week, Metallica finally performed the track live during a blistering, fiery set. Official video footage of the performance is streaming now on YouTube.

“Special for you, London!” frontman James Hetfield yelled out right after playing the track.

The Metallica crew is currently on a lengthy European tour to promote “Hardwired…to Self-Destruct.”

The group is also set to perform an an upcoming benefit show to help those affected by the Northern California wildfires, which are the deadliest in recorded state history. That concert will happen Nov. 9 at San Francisco’s AT&T Park.
