Equanimeous St. Brown of the Chicago Bears and his brother, Amon-Ra of the Detroit Joins, appeared on The 33rd Team (via NBC Chicago) to talk about all things NFL.

Equanimeous, a wide received for the team, says he believes the Bears are going to be No. 1 in their division, despite ending the season last in 2022.

“We’re gonna get some weapons. Aaron’s [Rodgers] leaving. Probably leaving the NFC North. It’s gonna be an open division. Going from last to first, real quick,” Equanimeous said.

Equanimeous was happy with the Bears trading the No. 1 pick for a handful of picks and D.J. Moore.

“I think this was a steal for us,” Moore said. “We got a lot of picks and a great receiver for the No. 1 pick. D.J. Moore is a great receiver. Brings a lot of versatility to the offense. I think the trade was a win for the Bears.” He also commented on the quarterback situation, saying, “I’m happy to see we’re going with Justin Fields.”

In addition to Fields, the Bears made other major moves during the free agency period. The team signed Tremaine Edmunds, T.J. Edwards, Nate Davis, D’Onta Foreman, Travis Homer, Anthony Billings and more. That’s a lot of new blood.

The Detroit Lions also made some big changes during the free agency period. They signed former Bears running back David Montgomery and former Philadelphia Eagles safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson. The latter, of course, just came off a big Super Bowl appearance and was considered one of the biggest moves so far this year.

The NFC North wasn’t considered a very strong division in the 2022 season, but that could easily change. The Lions are looking to be the leaders in the division this coming season, and the Vikings are also looking strong. Things are up in the air with Green Bay, as they work out the Aaron Rodgers situation, and the Bears are also doing lots of behind-the-scenes work to shape their future.
