Have you heard of the term “mom shaming?” It’s a first for me, but it happens. I guess it’s when moms shame other moms online for their family decisions. I don’t understand why people don’t stay in their lane, but whatever. Everyone has an opinion on the internet.
In any case, Kelly Stafford, the wife of former Detroit Lions and current Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford, is standing up for herself after getting mom shamed online. Kelly posted some delightufl Instagram photos this week of their recent Stafford family trip to Hawaii. Her followers couldn’t help but point out that the couple’s 2-year-old daughter, Tyler, was not in the photo.
The Criticism
From there, Kelly’s followers started posting negative comments about leaving their youngest at home. So, Kelly did what any respectable mom would do. She took to her Instagram story to stand up for herself and her decision. “Knew it would happen. People already shaming us for not bringing Tyler,” Kelly, , who has been married to the quarterback since 2015, wrote with a photo of her with Tyler. She added, teasing an upcoming show of her “The Morning After With Kelly Stafford” podcast, “We make decisions for our kids that benefit them … not that we need to explain ourselves. If you wanna know, I’ll talk about why we made those decisions on my podcast.”
So, that’s what you get if you cross Kelly. She isn’t going to let you or any other mom make her feel guilty or question her family decisions. Kelly Stafford is not going to be mom shamed. I honestly think this is a great move for Kelly. I like the fact that she really has tough skin and doesn’t seem to care about what people say about her online. She gets that the internet is filled with trolls who will criticize anyone and everyone. It’s refreshing to see her take.
