U.S. News & World Report has ranked the best hotels in the US, determined by looking at account travel experts’ opinions, industry awards and online guest reviews. For 2023, U.S. News ranked a total of 6,068 luxury hotels for its 2023 Best Hotels in the USA category. As for those amazing hotels, the No. 1 hotel in the U.S. is the Acqualina Resort & Residences in the Miami Beach area, according to the study, with The Canyon Suites at the Phoenician in Scottsdale, Arizona, coming in at No. 2.

So, what about Michigan? U.S. News also ranked the best hotels in Michigan based on an “analysis of industry awards, hotel star ratings and user ratings,” they state. “Hotels that scored in the top 10% of the Best Hotels in USA earned a Gold badge.” They add that hotels that scored in the top 30% earned a “Silver badge.” Also, “Hotels that appear after ranked hotels are sorted by hotel class and then by user rating, as provided by Tripadvisor.”

Best Hotel in Michigan

The best hotel in Michigan, according to the study, is the Grand Hotel in Mackinac Island. It’s followed by the Hotel Wallon in Walloon Lake.
