Football season is just a few months away, but who’s counting? Okay. I’m counting. As one of the lead sports writers for AlternativeFix.com, I have to say that football is my favorite sport to cover. It’s not too early to look at the five best NFL teams going into the 2024 season. Sure, we’re still about two months away from the pre-season and three months away from the regular season, but it’s still coming. Let’s get over this last football-less hump together and look at what’s to come.
5 Best NFL Teams for 2024: NFL Power Rankings
I’m excited to get into the five best NFL teams for 2024 and my current NFL Power Rankings, but first, let’s talk about what happened during the offseason. A lot happened. On the head coaching front, the NFL replaced a quarter of its head coaches in 2024. I don’t think all of these guys deserved to get the boot, but it will make for some exciting football ahead. One of the biggest stories of the offseason was when Bill Belichick of the New England Patriots got let go. But, the Patriots’ 2023 season was really bad. Actually, it was horrible. Going into the 2024 season, many NFL experts, including myself, have the Patriots in the second to last spot in their NFL Power Rankings, only behind the Carolina Panthers. Another big move was when the Seattle Seahawks let Pete Carroll go after so many successful seasons.
Now, let’s get into my expert 2024 NFL Power Rankings. I can’t wait to watch these teams in action over the season. Also, not to be rude, but I’m glad the Cowboys weren’t strong enough to make my top five. They’re the most annoying team, right?
Just for the record, I have the Philadelphia Eagles at No. 6 on my list. The team had a horrible second half of their last season. But, they’ve done a lot of moving around in the offseason and spent a lot of money. They’re be contenders this season and one of the best NFL teams.
5. Houston Texans
The Houston Texans have experienced the kind of rebuild any team would want. They almost made it to the AFC Championship last season. They’ll be great again, and they have C.J. Stroud.
4. Baltimore Ravens
It goes without saying that Lamar Jackson is one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. The Ravens lost in the AFC championship game last season, and I think they’ll be back to possibly win it this time. They’re by far one of the best NFL teams.
3. Detroit Lions
The Detroit Lions have spent the most money in the NFL during the offseason. They came within a hair of making it to the Super Bowl last season. I think they’ll make history happen this year and go all the way to the Big Game.
2. San Francisco 49ers
The 49ers squeaked by the Lions in the NFC Championship game last season. They made it to the Super Bowl but fell short. They’ll be strong again this season.
1. Kansas City Chiefs
Will the Kansas City Chiefs win three consecutive Super Bowls? It’s possible. I think they’re the strongest team going into the 2024 NFL season. That’s not even factoring in the Taylor Swift factor.
