It’s been done before, but not often. I’m talking about a team winning two Super Bowls in a row. Could the Kansas City Chiefs be one of those special teams? Could the Kansas City Chiefs win two Super Bowls in a row and be part of that special club?
Could the Kansas City Chiefs win two Super Bowls in a row?
The odds are there for them. Nearly every top 10 ranking has the Kansas City Chiefs at No. 1 going into the 2023 season, including the official NFL Power Rankings. A few have the Philadelphia Eagles instead, but for the most part, it’s the Kansas City Chiefs. Of course, they have a few deficits going into the new season. They’ve lost JuJu Smith-Schuster and Orlando Brown Jr. But, they won a Super Bowl after losing Tyreek Hill, so it sounds like Patrick Mahomes can really do anything. He’s the Tom Brady of the new generation.
I wonder if Mahomes and Brady hang out? They should. Mahomes could learn a lot from Brady, and I honestly think that Brady could learn a lot from Mahomes, too.
So, which teams have actually won two consecutive Super Bowls? Those teams are the Green Bay Packers (Super Bowls I and II), Miami Dolphins (Super Bowls VII and VIII), Pittsburgh Steelers (Super Bowls IX and X; Super Bowls XIII and XIV), San Francisco 49ers (Super Bowls XXIII and XXIV), Dallas Cowboys (Super Bowls XXVII and XXVIII), Denver Broncos (Super Bowls XXXII and XXXIII) and New England Patriots (Super Bowls XXXVIII and XXXIX).
I really think that if any team has this chance, it’s the Chiefs. They are still a very young team. Plus, Mahomes has given up extra pay to ensure that the team has enough money to bring on key players. It’s a smart move, as well as an unselfish move. The Chiefs also have a strong defense. At the same time, I could see the Eagles going all the way. They’re hungry this year. Jalen Hurts did not like losing last year, and he’s ready for a return appearance.
