Chicago’s major league ballclubs, the Cubs and White Sox, have canceled their 2022 fan conventions due to concerns over large indoor gatherings during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Both the Cubs and White Sox both send out statements stating they will cancel the Cubs Convention and SoxFest, respectively.
The conventions were also canceled in 2020, due to coronavirus concerns.
The White Sox (93-69) made it to the playoffs this year, with Manager Tony La Russa, before losing to the Houston Astros in the American League Division Series. The Cubs (71-91) didn’t make it to the playoffs this year.
