Detroit has finally earned some respect in the NFL, but some people are late to the game. This past week, Detroit Lions’ Amon-Ra St. Brown was on a weekly podcast with his brother Equanimeous St. Brown. During the appearance, Amon-Ra petitioned cornerback Jalen Ramsey to come to Detroit this offseason.
“I keep seeing these Jalen Ramsey (rumors)—that they (Rams) might release him, or how(ever) that’s gonna work,” St. Brown said. “Jalen, if you can hear this, I know you played with (Lions QB Jared) Goff before—Detroit might seem like a landing spot, my guy. Talk to me, talk to me.”
Will this actually happen? Probably not. Ramsey is still under contract with the LA Rams, so he would have to be traded or cut to bring him to the Lions in 2023. Ramsey has even gone to Twitter to say that he’s not getting cut. But, it’s been a big topic amongst NFL fans and critics, since there has been some speculation that Brad Holmes will bring Ramsey to Detroit.
Regardless, Dallas Cowboys start defender Micah Parsons decided to make a thing of it all and enter himself into the conversation. Of course, he had to say something negative. On Monday (Feb. 20), Parsons took to Twitter to bust some Detroit pride- or try to.
“I’m sorry no one going from la to Detroit,” Parsons tweeted with some few cry-laughing emojis. Does he not know that the Detroit Lions are now considered one of the hottest up-and-coming teams in the NFL? I mean, Jared Goff was ranked higher in year-end quarterback rankings than Matthew Stafford. People want to be in Detroit. They don’t say, “Detroit vs. Everybody,” for no reason. This tweet shows that Parsons is either insecure or just a jerk. Either way, we’re coming for you next season, Cowboys.
