Summer is ice cream season, although ice cream can really be a delicious treat no matter the season. As the summer season really gets into swing, many businesses are churning out new ice cream flavors that are available exclusively during the warm months.

Kroger is known as being a retail grocery store chain, but they also have some wickedly good ice cream. Headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio, The Kroger Co. has more than 2,700 stores across the U.S. under a collection of banner names. Kroger also operates 35 food production or manufacturing facilities, which make private-label products, including ice cream.

Now, Kroger has announced a change to its ice cream line that kicks off this summer.

Kroger Co. has announced a limited-time Kroger Brand Summer in a Pint collection. The collection features four new ice cream and sherbet flavors that promise to “transport customers to a dreamy summer getaway.” The collection will be available in limited quantities and won’t be around all summer, the company says.

The four new flavors are Italian Style Summer Fizz (a blood orange-flavored sherbet), Fireside Nights (a take on classic s’mores), Sandy Shores (coconut-flavored ice cream) and Poolside Tan Lines (vanilla bean, chocolate and coffee ice creams).

What’s extra cool is that beginning on June 20, Kroger is also giving away 92,000 pints of free ice cream, so 1,000 pints of ice cream for each of summer’s 92 days.

“We’re thrilled to launch the Summer in a Pint collection offering customers a taste of summer paradise – no passport or boarding pass needed,” Mike Murphy, group vice president of Center Store Merchandising at Kroger, said in a statement. “Last year, we were blown away by customer excitement for our free pint offer and this summer we are making it even sweeter.”

The download is available only on Friday, June 20, 2025, starting at 12 p.m. ET, while supplies last. The coupon is good for the new flavors or classic Kroger Brand ice cream flavors. The coupon is also redeemable at many Kroger Family of Stores spots from Friday, June 20 through Friday, July 4. Note that this deal is good in all U.S. states except California, Colorado, Louisiana, Tennessee and Nevada.
