Jake Paul, 27, beat Mike Tyson, 58, Friday night, November 15, in a lackluster boxing event that, when all was said and done, was pretty lopsided. Paul won by decision, and many views thought it was a kind of boring fight.

But, no matter what anyone says, Tyson seems proud of the match and says he’s glad that he did it. I mean, Tyson is a legend, so as far as I’m concerned, he can do as many of these as he wants. People will always be watching.

Mike Tyson Says He’s ‘Grateful’ for the Jake Paul Fight

Tyson took to X the next day to share his thoughts about fighting Paul and how the event turned out. In the message, he says the he still feels like he won and is grateful.

“This is one of those situations when you lost but still won,” he wrote. “I’m grateful for last night. No regrets to get in ring one last time. I almost died in June. Had 8 blood transfusions. Lost half my blood and 25lbs in hospital and had to fight to get healthy to fight so I won. To have my children see me stand toe to toe and finish 8 rounds with a talented fighter half my age in front of a packed Dallas Cowboy stadium is an experience that no man has the right to ask for. Thank you  #PaulTyson.”

Jake Paul’s Girlfriend Jutta Leerdam Congratulates Paul

After the fight, Jake Paul’s girlfriend Jutta Leerdam took to social media to congratulate Paul.

“Selling out the AT&T stadium and crashing Netflix together with the legend @miketyson,” she wrote with a blue heart emoji. “You’ve only been doing this sport for a few years and you make the most massive events happen. People can say what they want but they watched it and it broke records. Bigger than the Super Bowl. You keep showing me and the world that dreaming big and manifestation works @jakepaul I’m so proud of you. You inspire me and so many people out there to think big and if you work hard and believe in it then you can make it happen.” She signed it with a butterfly and blue heart emoji.

Paul also took to Instagram after the win. He simply posted the letter, “W.,” along with a photo of him fighting Tyson in the ring.

So, will Tyson do another match? He’s said it’s not out of the question. First, I think he should focus on getting healthier. Then, if he wants to do more fights with younger opponents, I say, he’s earned that right. Or, it might be interesting to see two older boxers go at it, and that might be a little fairer. Of course, we don’t want anyone getting seriously hurt, though, so it really depends on a variety of factors.

What Tyson is true that he did win, in a sense. Both Tyson and Paul won, because they both garnered one of the biggest audiences in fighting history, and that’s a double win.
