My Morning Jacket frontman Jim James will unleash a new album of covers, called “Tribute to 2,” on Dec. 8. He’s covering a wide range of artists on the set, too, from Bob Dylan to the Beach Boys. Listen to James interpret the Beach Boys tune “I Just Wasn’t Made for These Times” below.

“‘I Just Wasn’t Made for These Times’ is a song that has spoken to me very deeply from the first time I heard it,” James said in a statement. “So often, many of us just feel like we don’t fit in, like somehow we were dropped into the wrong life at the wrong time.”

“This song has such a beautiful way of resonating with that energy and relating to the pain of life on earth,” he added, “but also offering hope and comfort in the beautiful sounds of togetherness.”

James also covers Willie Nelson and Sonny & Cher on the new record, to name a new.

In addition to “Tribute to 2,” James will reissue his 2009 George Harrison covers EP, “Tribute to,” on Dec. 8.
