Thanksgiving weekend is here, and that means football. Sure, the turkey, stuffing and mashed potatoes are good, too. But, for many football fans, Thanksgiving weekend brings some of the biggest and best NFL and college football games of the season. So, what NFL teams play on Thanksgiving Day 2023? Actually, what NFL teams play every Thanksgiving?

When it comes to which NFL teams play every Thanksgiving, that’s the Dallas Cowboys and Detroit Lions. It’s a long tradition to have these two teams play every Thanksgiving.

As for Thanksgiving this year, we have three games to watch. First up, the Detroit Lions will take on division rivals the Green Bay Packers at Ford Field on Thanksgiving Day. The game starts at 12:30 p.m. EST. Then, the Washington Commanders will go up against the Dallas Cowboys at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, at 4:30 p.m. EST. Finally, the San Francisco 49ers will take on the Seattle Seahawks at 8:20 p.m. EST at Lumen Field in Seattle, Washington.

The Detroit Lions vs. Green Bay Packers game is especially of interest on Thanksgiving. While the Lions are comfortably ahead in the NFL North, Green Bay could prove spoilers. Packers quarterback Jordan Love is an underrated, in my opinion, and this is the kind of game that could surprise everyone. As I’ve studied his stats over the season, Love is a fairly athletic quarterback, and he goes outside of the pocket enough that it could rattle the Detroit defense. But, with this being a home game and the Motor City crowd as pumped as ever, that can only help fuel the Lions flame.

So, which NFL teams are playing on Black Friday? This year actually marks the first-ever Black Friday game, in place of the traditional Thursday Night Football. The Miami Dolphins will take on the New York Jets on Black Friday at 3 p.m. EST at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. It’ll be interesting to see what kind of viewership a Black Friday NFL game gets.

Also, this isn’t NFL football, but one of the biggest college games happens this weekend. The Michigan Wolverines take on the Ohio State Buckeyes on Saturday at noon EST in Ann Arbor, Michigan. This is one of the oldest and most bitter rivalries in all of college football, so that should make for a good watch. That game will air on
