It’s that time of the week when it’s time to start gearing up for a new round of NFL games. I personally don’t care for Tuesdays and Wednesdays during the fall, because there’s no football. What’s up with that? How great would it be to spread out the games and have football on seven days a week in the fall? Just a pipe dream, I know. But, a great one. That said, here’s the NFL Week 5 schedule and some top games to watch.

Let’s get into the bye weeks first. Four teams have a bye week this week: the Los Angeles Chargers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Seattle Seahawks and Cleveland Browns. So, if you a fan of those teams, scour the following round of games to get in on the football fun.

The week will kick off with the Chicago Bears (0-4) at the Washington Commanders (2-2) for Thursday Night Football (Oct. 5). Then, the next game is the Jacksonville Jaguars (2-2) and Buffalo Bills (3-1) Sunday morning (Oct. 8) in London.

A few other choice games on Sunday include the Tennessee Titans and Indianapolis Colts, who are both 2-2 and in the AFC South. Also, the Baltimore Ravens (3-1) will go to Pittsburgh to take on the Steelers (2-2) for the AFC North. Moreover, don’t forget about the Philadelphia Eagles going to Los Angeles to take on the Rams (2-2). The Eagles are currently 4-0. Also, the Cincinnati Bengals (1-3) will try to win on the road against the Arizona Cardinals (1-3).

For Sunday Night Football, we’ve got the Dallas Cowboys (3-1) going to California to take on the unbeaten San Francisco 49ers. This is one of the biggest games of the weekend, as both teams have a stellar record and are considered teams to beat. The Cowboys have one of the strongest defenses in the NFL right now, so they’re strong. But, the 49ers have a star player in Christian McCaffrey. It’s really anyone’s game.

Finally, I’m looking forward to watching the Detroit Lions take on the Carolina Panthers at 1 p.m. on Sunday. This should be a blowout, with the Lions winning, but you never know with the Lions. The Panthers are just not a strong team this year. I don’t think they’ll lose every single game, but I don’t think they’ll win this one.

The week will end with the Green Bay Packers (2-2) heading to the Las Vegas Raiders (1-3) for Monday Night Football (Oct. 9). The Packers had a pretty bad showing against the Detroit Lions last week, but you can’t write them off. Also, they’re doing well for a team that just lost their longtime quarterback. This game could be a surprise, but it being a road game, I’m leaning to the Raiders.
