NFL Week 7 was filled with surprises, and that seems to be a trend for the NFL in 2023. Now, the all eyes are on the NFL Week 8 schedule. Here’s the full tally, bye weeks and top games to watch.

As for Week 7, one of the biggest surprises was the Minnesota Vikings towering over the San Francisco 49ers on Monday Night Football (Oct. 23). The Vikings, although playing at home, were the underdogs going into this game, as the 49ers are considered one of the best teams in the league this year. Kirk Cousins and company pulled off an incredible win over the 49ers, pushing them up in the NFC North standings. Meanwhile, another NFC North team, the Detroit Lions, fell hard to the Baltimore Ravens. Suddenly, that conference seems a bit more competitive, although most critics still believe the Lions will win the NFL North fairly easily.

Some good news for any football fan: No teams on a bye during Week 8 of the 2023 NFL season. That means you’ll be able to watch your favorite teams play, without missing of them this weekend.

Some choice games in Week 8 include the Green Bay Packers hosting the Minnesota Vikings; the Miami Dolphins against the New England Patriots; the Philadelphia Eagles on the road against the Washington Commanders; and the Kansas City Chiefs up against the Denver Broncos in Denver. Another highlight is the New York Giants and New York Jets meeting for the first time in a regular season game since 2019.

As for power rankings, right now, the same five teams that were strong last week still look strong, but some have fallen a bit. Both the Detroit Lions and San Francisco 49ers lost their second games of the season, pushing them a bit further down in rankings, at least to the 4 to 7 range. Meanwhile, only two teams have only lost one game this season: the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs. Will we see a repeat Super Bowl matchup? It’s certainly possible. However, the Miami Dolphins and Baltimore Ravens also look very strong.
