Remember that time Nirvana bass player Krist Novoselic threw his bass into the air during the 1992 MTV VMA Awards, only to have it land right back on the guy? Well, Novoselic recreated that experience – minus that bass falling back on him – during a show with his new band, Giants in the Trees. Check out the Facebook photo below.
In other news, Novoselic also recently wrote an op-ed for Rolling Stone to give his thoughts on having more transparency in political advertising.
“When it comes to political advertising, disclosure of who is disseminating information — fake or otherwise — can mitigate the negative effects on voters,” Novoselic states in the op-ed. “Full disclosure of the actual individuals contributing money — not front groups — also should apply to every kind of federal electioneering.”
Novoselic added that he supports the Honest Ads Act, which would ask social media companies to share information regarding who is paying for political ads. He’s not convinced the bill will pass, though, and says, “shareholders should also urge social media companies to comprehensively address the corrupting influence of ‘fake news’ and the threat it poses to the continued viability of their business models — which are entirely dependent on advertising.”
