Isn’t it wild how close we’ve come to the Super Bowl? It’s been a super exciting season filled with twists and turns, which is typical for the NFL. You never quite know what you’re going to get, but that’s the fun of it.
Of course, if you’re at the bad end of a surprise in the NFL, that’s not a good thing. Some Detroit Lions fans are having to talk themself off ledges after that brutal loss to the Washington Commanders. But, it’s just a game, so try to not take it so seriously.
Four teams, though, are taking thing very seriously right now, because they’re the final teams left standing on the road to the Super Bowl. Let’s get into some predictions on who will come out on top this weekend in the Buffalo Bills vs. Kansas City Chiefs and Washington Commanders vs. Eagles games. Buckle up, because this weekend’s games will be a wild ride.
Philadelphia Eagles vs. Washington Commanders Predictions
NFL analyst and expert John Breech of CBS Sports jokes that the biggest rivalry in sports is him vs. Eagles fans, beause “there’s no fan base that calls me out faster when I pick against their team than Eagles fans.”
“I think Eagles fans would prefer if I picked against their team in this game, but the joke’s on them, because the prediction here is that the Eagles will be flying to their third Super Bowl in eight seasons,” he adds in a January 22 feature.
His prediction is Eagles 27-24 over Commanders.
Over at the Arizona Republic, Jeremy Cluff also gives the Eagles the nod, with the very same Eagles 27, Commanders 24 score prediction.
My prediction: Eagles 24, Commanders 21.
Buffalo Bills vs. Kansas City Chiefs Predictions
Breech of CBS Sports goes with the Chiefs over the Bills, 26-23.
“Every time the Bills have been to a Super Bowl, they’ve played an NFC East team and with the Eagles and Commanders in the NFC title game, I think the football Gods are trying to nudge me to pick Buffalo, but I can’t pick against history and the Chiefs seem hellbent on making NFL history this year by becoming the first team ever to win three Super Bowls in a row,” Breech says.
At the Arizona Republic, Jeremy Cluff goes with the Chiefs, with a Chiefs 31, Bills 28 prediction.
My prediction: Chiefs 24, Bills 17.
Early Super Bowl Predictions
Cluff has the Chiefs and Eagles at the Super Bowl together, with a Chiefs 30, Eagles 27 final score.
“We had the Lions winning this game over the Chiefs in our predictions for the Super Bowl before the wild-card round and the divisional round, but the Commanders’ win over the Lions obviously changed things,” he adds. “If the Eagles and Chiefs do both advance to the Super Bowl, giving us a rematch of the Super Bowl in 2023, we like the Chiefs to get the better of the Eagles like they did that season, when they earned a 38-35 win.”
So, why the Chiefs? “Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce and Andy Reid just know how to win in the postseason and their legends will only grow with a third straight Super Bowl title in a narrow win over Jalen Hurts, Saquon Barkley and the Eagles,” Cluff states.
My prediction: Chiefs 31, Eagles 27.
