Simone Biles’ husband Jonathan Owens is in Paris, France, this week to support his wife as she garners more Olympic medals.
On Tuesday (July 30) Owens sat in the crowd to watch Biles wearing what seemed to be a custom Simone Biles’ T-shirt.

Jonathan Owens has really been front-and-center during the event’s broadcast, as he sits with Biles’ parents and cheers on his young lady.

Owns sacrificed to get to Paris, too. He recently joined the Chicago Bears, coming from the Green Bay Packers, and made sure his new team would allow him to take a leave for the Olympic games this summer when he signed a two-year contract during the offseason. He got fans pumped when he posted on a selfie of himself on the plane Monday (July 29) with the caption, “Coming for you baby.” How sweet is that?

After Biles and Team USA in women’s gymnastics got the gold, a proud husband posted about how much he enjoyed the moment. View the Instagram post below.
“Witnessing history every time you step on the mat,” he wrote on Instagram. “Congrats baby on becoming the most decorated American gymnast in Olympic history!!!! Just wow!!!! 8 of them!!!!! So thankful I was there to see it.”
Biles commented back on the post, writing, “My whole heart. I love you. Means the world you’re here.”
Honestly, nobody in the Chicago Bears camp should fault him for missing some early practice for this historic moment.
The news of Owens being at the Olympics broke during a July 22 press conference, when Chicago Bears head coach Matt Eberflus said that he and Owens negotiated time off from the team’s required training camp to be in Paris for his wife.
“Just because we respect the Olympics,” Eberflus, 54, said, according toΒ ESPN. “That is a big deal. And he’s just supporting the one he loves the most. And I think that’s so cool that he gets to do that.”
He added, “We welcome that, and it’s going to be awesome. Go U.S.A.”
Hopefully it’s more than just him respecting the Olympics. It would be great to see a player in the NFL support his spouse in any way that’s important, even if it means missing a little practice.
Kudos to Jonathan Owens for having the foresight to work out this deal before he signed the dotted line with the Bears.
“It was something me and my agent talked about when we went in and I signed with the team,” Owens said via The Associated Press. “The Olympics coming up and who my wife is, that was just something … it was all respectful. We went to them and just asked, ‘We would really appreciate it if he could go and support his wife,’ and they were really cool about it.”
He added, “First-class organization. I just want to thank them so much for allowing me to go over and do that. I can’t wait to be able to support her, and I know my family and my wife, she really appreciates it.”
