The Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) Holiday Train and Holiday Bus are back in 2021 with a few pandemic-influenced adjustments.
Some of the new requirements including travelers having to wear masks, regardless of age or vaccination status. Strollers are also strongly discouraged, because they take up too much space.
Also, Santa will not be taking photos this year.
The CTA Holiday Train started on Black Friday (Nov. 26). Santa and his elves will ride outside the train and mingle with families. To track the train, head to transitchicago.com/traintracker. Search for the candy cane icon to find the Holiday Train.
The CTA Holiday Bus will begin traveling Tuesday (Nov. 30). The bus will feature holiday-inspired seats, a miniature village, lights and more. To track the bus, visit transitchicago.com/holidaybustracker.
