Let me start off this piece by admitting that I’m a Michigan native and homegrown Detroit Lions fan. So, I’m not usually rooting for the Bears. But, I’d like to see the NFC North division stay strong. That said, I don’t think the Chicago Bears should do a Justin Fields trade. I think the quarterback is one of the few stellar pieces the Bears have in their arsenal right now. They’re going to get a top draft pick already, so why not just go the draft route and give Fields the help he needs?

But, a Justin Fields trade could happen. There’s lots of talk about a possible trade deal that would send Fields to a new NFL home and score the Bears a bunch of cool draft picks. With that in mind, here are three teams that could trade for Justin Fields and benefit from it.

As for the asking price, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler has revealed that Chicago would likely ask for less than a first-round pick. “The consensus in an informal poll of league evaluators is that Fields would be worth a second- or third-round pick in a pre-draft trade,” Fowler stated.

Pittsburgh Steelers

The Steelers didn’t have the best season, but they finished out with a winning season. Head coach Mike Tomlin is working wonders with this team, and they’ve won some games that they certainly weren’t expected to pull off. That said, while Kenny Pickett is a decent quarterback, I believe Justin Fields would be quite the upgrade. It doesn’t hurt that the Terrible Towel nation wants to see this trade happen, too.

The bottom line is that the Steelers need help offensively. Fields would likely be a much more consistent quarterback than Pickett. This one could go either way, but of the teams on this list, I’d put my money on Fields going to the Steelers if he doesn’t stay in Chicago.

Las Vegas Raiders

The Las Vegas Raiders are definitely on the market for a quarterback. They even benched Jimmy Garoppolo this season, because they were getting better results with backup quarterbacks. So, Justin Fields to the Las Vegas Raiders is a no-brainer option.

Los Angeles Rams

Woah. Didn’t Matthew Stafford just win the Rams a Super Bowl a few years ago? He did, but it’s been a rocky road ever since. There were rumors last season that the Rams were calling around, trying to trade out Stafford. In the end, they kept him, largely because it would have been costly to get out of his post-Super Bowl contract deal. But, he was injured for most of last season and started to improve pretty late this season. Bringing Fields could bring some freshness and excitement to the Rams. That’s a good thing, since they’ve pretty much crashed since their Super Bowl win.

Atlanta Falcons

Who doesn’t love to see a hometown boy thrive? Bringing Justin Fields to the Atlanta Falcons would be a feel-good story, since he’s from Atlanta. They should have drafted him back in 2021, if you ask me. They got Kyle Pitts instead, so that was a great pick, but still. Also, the Falcons aren’t getting the best results with quarterbacks Taylor Heinicke and Desmond Ridder, so they’re one of the NFL teams that will surely be hunting for a new quarterback in the offseason.
