Can you imagine losing your wedding ring on your actual wedding day? That nightmare scenario became a reality for a Chicago groom during his wedding day over the weekend.
Anthony Serritella was married Saturday afternoon (Nov. 6) and flashed his new wedding ring to a buddy when it came off his finger. From there, the nightmare ensured, as the ring slipped into the Chicago sewer system.
Firefighters were called to the scene and went into the storm drain to look or the ring. Thankfully, the crew found it and returned the ring to its rightful owner, according to the ABC 7 Chicago.
Serritella, according to a statement, said he’s grateful for the firefighters of Engine 98. The wedding band was also Serritella’s father’s, so it carries a long history.
