Being open on Thanksgiving day or night for early Black Friday shopping had become a trend a few years back, but it appears that fad is fading, as a plethora of retailers are declaring Thanksgiving 2021 a day off.

While Thanksgiving day was starting to become a money maker for stores, the COVID-19 pandemic changed that, as stores struggled to find enough workers to staff even Black Friday hours.
