When it comes to valuable Detroit Lions players, third-year receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown is right near the top of the list. In his first two season, he’s become one of the most successful receives in the entire league. Now, he’s getting a ton of respect by being named the best receiver vs. man coverage in the league. Read on for the Amon-Ra St. Brown best NFL receiver honors.

Amon-Ra St. Brown, Best NFL Receiver vs. Man Coverage:

PFF recently ranked the top 10 wide receivers against man coverage. St. Brown came in at the No. 1 on the tally following his stellar 2022 performance. To earn the honor, St. Brown posting a 90.8 PFF grade against that coverage. He was followed by Ja’Marr Chase and CeeDee Lamb, both of whom posted 90.7 grades.

“St. Brown had a career year last season for Detroit, proving to be one of the league’s best slot receivers,” Braxton Howard of PFF stated. “He had an impressive 127.7 NFL passer rating when targeted against man coverage, which ranked inside the top 10. Not only did he rank top 10 in that area, but also with a 2.82 yards per route run; both of which were better numbers than what he posted when facing zone coverage.”

St. Brown’s other areas were strong, too. He scored No. 9 for against zone coverage. He also had the second-highest overall PFF grade when compared to all 2022 NFL receivers.

Of St. Brown, Howard adds, “St. Brown came in at No. 9 when we looked at performance against zone coverage, but when it came to facing man coverage, he was the top guy. St. Brown was a phenomenal underneath weapon working from the slot, as he had 25 first downs on one of the lowest average depth of target figures (6.9) of the qualified receivers.”

St. Brown adds to an already stacked Detroit Lions team. Yes, the word “stacked” isn’t usually used in conjunction with the Detroit Lions. But, this year, the team is on fire. Not only is the full team strong, but Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff is considered a major contender this season. I’m crossing my fingers and drinking the blue Kool-Aid in preparation for the next season.
