The Indianapolis Colts were leading the Philadelphia Eagles for the entire game on Sunday (Nov. 20) until late in the fourth quarter, when Jalen Hurts took matters into his own hands. The quarterback embarked on a seven-yard rush that won the game for the Eagles, 17-16, dodging their second straight loss.
The Colts still had some time on the clock, so they tried to run down the field to score a field goal and win the game. But, the Eagles’ defense held them back, bringing Hurts and the Eagles to a big win.
Hurts completed 18 of 25 passes for 190 yards and one touchdown while running for 86 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries against Indianapolis on Sunday.
“That was one that was in the bag and we pulled it out, and I think we pulled it out at the right time, at the right game,” Hurts said in a press conference following the big win. “You know, we work really hard to try and get on the same page, go out there, execute.”
He added, “One, knowing what we’re going to execute, knowing how we’re going to execute it, and knowing why we want to execute the play. And hell of a call by coach. Hell of an execution by the O-linemen. We found a way.”
“We clawed, we scratched, we fought and kept going,” added Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni in the press conference. “We won at the end. I think any time your back is against the wall, right, and you respond at all levels, offense, defense, special teams, yeah, it feels pretty sweet, and it builds. You can build from anything.”
Up next, the Eagles are going back home to Philadelphia to play the Green Bay Packers on Sunday night (Nov. 27). The Colts will play next Monday (Nov. 28) against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
