Listen, I love football just as much as the next person. But, people just have to get a life. I’m seeing a ton of comments on social media bashing the new Detroit Lions’ helmets, and honestly, I don’t get it. They’re helmets. That’s it. Now, if we’re talking about the draft and key players, I understand the passion. But, why are people getting so upset over the Detroit Lions’ new helmets? Are their lives that good that they have to find something to hate, so they pick helmets, of all things? I just don’t get it.

The Detroit Lions revealed the much-anticipated new Detroit Lions alternate helmets on social media at noon Wednesday (June 21). The helmet is a light blue with a Lion jumping across the side. It’s nothing groundbreaking, but it does the trick. I literally see nothing wrong with these helmets. View the official photo below.

Some of the comments included “that’s awful,” “nope” and “no.” I do see some positive comments, though, such as “These are sensational!!!” and “beautiful.” I think they look darn cool.

In other news, one of the Detroit Lions’ key players, Jameson Williams, is facing a six-game suspension due to violating the NFL’s gambling rules. Some believe the six-game suspension is too harsh. The NFL is considering changing their rules down the road. At least, that’s the vibe.

As Jeff Miller, NFL executive vice president of communications, public affairs and policy, says (via Sports Illustrated), “The world has changed over the last few years. The availability of our phones and with a couple of touches, and all of a sudden, you can place a bet on many different things was not available a few years ago and is available now.”

Here are the top-ranked NFL players for 2023, according to CBS.
