Football Week 7 is here, but all the talk is still on Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift. They’re certainly the hottest couple in the world right now, or at least in the NFL. As it turns out, Travis Kelce was nervous for Taylor Swift to meet his dad.
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end talked about the meeting “New Heights” podcast with his brother, Jason, who plays for the Philadelphia Eagles. On the show, Travis said meeting his mom, Donna, was fine, but meeting his dad was “terrifying.”
Travis Kelce Was Nervous for Taylor Swift to Meet His Dad
“If you were watching the game, you saw something momentous happen — which was Taylor Swift talking to Ed Kelce,'” Jason said. Then, the two brothers laughed about the idea of his dad and, apparently, the kind of things his dad says. “He shouldn’t be talking to Taylor Swift,” Jason exclaimed.
“This is a terrifying conversation,” Travis added. “I felt terrible for Taylor!”
So, what makes Mr. Kelce such a terrifying chat? Jason said that the fear is because their dad can be a total wildcard, and since they didn’t know what the two were talking about, that became nerve-wracking.
“Talking to mom, alright that’s gonna be fine,” they said. “If you see dad talking to anyone and you can’t hear what’s happening, who knows where that conversation is going.” But, they guys still professed their love for dad, with Travis saying that he is the “best f***ing dad in the world.”
Whatever was said during that conversation between Swift and dad must have been fine, as Swift and Travis spent last weekend together in New York City. Their romance seems as lively as ever. A few weeks ago, the head coach for Kansas City, Andy Reid, joked that he set the two up, as Reid met Swift when she was a little girl, and her dad was a big Philadelphia Eagles fan. Reid met her during his time coaching the Eagles. But, that was all in jest.
Kansas City’s next game is Sunday (Oct. 22) against the Los Angeles Chargers at Kansas City. No word on if Taylor will be there, but if she is, you know it’s going to be a media frenzy. Read why Swift is making the Chiefs the hottest team in the NFL here.
