We’re just days away from the 2024 NFL Draft, as the action will start Thursday (April 25) in downtown Detroit. So, 2024 NFL Mock Draft picks are going wild this week. As the Draft inches closer, more analysts and experts are coming out with updated predictions on first round picks, including the staff at AlternativeFix.com. Everyone seems to agree on one matter: Quarterbacks will rule the very first picks in the NFL Draft.

2024 NFL Mock Draft: Quarterbacks Rule the Top Spots

At this point, it would be shocking to not see the Chicago Bears pick quarterback Caleb Williams of USC with their much-coveted No. 1 pick. It’s totally not a surprise that this will happen. The Bears need a quarterback. They gave Justin Fields the boot, and everyone knows it was because they’re going to pick Williams to be their new franchise quarterback. What’s interesting is that even though Williams is fresh out of college, he really stands ready to take over as a franchise quarterback. There will be no “getting his feet wet.” He’s expected to hit the ground running, and it’s no wonder why Bears fans are so excited to see what he brings to the Windy City.

Need more proof that the Bears will go with Williams? You shouldn’t, but if you do, just look at the experts at NFL.com, PFF.com, USA Today and numerous other outlets saying this will happen in their 2024 NFL Mock Draft reports.

What is actually shocking is that the next two picks in our 2024 NFL Mock Draft are expected to be quarterbacks. Good quarterbacks are just in demand this year. The Washington Commanders will likely take quarterback Jayden Daniels of LSU. This could go another way, though. Most analysts, including me, think the Commanders will go with Daniels, but the team has been looking at other quarterback options, too, so we could be foiled. Still, Daniels would be a great pick and bring some much-needed energy to the franchise.

The third pick this year will go to a team that’s in desperate need for change: the New England Patriots. It’s wild to see the Patriots picking so early in the Draft, but here we are. They’ll likely go with Drake Maye, the quarterback from UNC. They would be foolish to pass up on fresh quarterback talent from Maye.

Looking to round out the top five picks, the Arizona Cardinals will have pick No. 4 and likely go with wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. of Ohio State. Having Harrison Jr. in the fold will beef up the Cardinals’ offense, which they need. He’s certainly a catch, pun intended.

Finally, for the No. 5 pick in our 2024 NFL Mock Draft, the Minnesota Vikings (via the Chargers) will probably go with J.J. McCarthy of Michigan. They’re looking for a new franchise quarterback, and even if McCarthy isn’t ready to go right away, he’s one of the most talented guys in the Draft and has the potential to grow into one of the best franchise quarterbacks of his generation. He’ll have a strong offense at his disposal, too, including Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison and T.J. Hockenson, so this should be a good fit for all parties involved.

That wraps up my 2024 NFL Mock Draft picks for the top five players. If you plan to attend the 2024 NFL Draft in Detroit, remember to register.
