The IRS will be sending out a new batch of tax refunds to Americans who overpaid on their taxes earlier this year.
Refund checks of $1,189 are expected to go out to around 430,000 people.

Certain Americans who received unemployment benefits last year are qualified to receive the check. The American Rescue Plan, passed in March of 2021, states that Americans did not have to pay taxes on the first $10,200 in unemployment payments taken in 2020. Those who filed their tax return before the bill was passed are expected to get a refund.

The savings are designated to individuals and married couples with a “modified gross income” of less than $150,000.
