Pop superstar Taylor Swift kicked off the South American leg of her “Eras Tour” over the weekend, and Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce took his bye week opening to catch her show in Argentina. At the gig, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce had a kiss that was seen around the world. It’s probably going to be one of the most famous kisses of all time.
Swift, 33, brought her show to Buenos Aires’ Estadio River Plate in Argentina on Saturday night (Nov. 11). Following the show on the Eras Tour, she ended the concert by running into the arms of Kelce, 34, who was waiting side stage. As she embraced him and fell into his arms, she also greeted him with a huge kiss. Watch the viral kiss below.
That’s not all. There was more Kelce love during the show, too. Earlier in the evening, while performing Swift changed the lyrics to her song “Karma,” singing, “Karma is the guy on the Chiefs coming straight home to me.” Wow. He had to feel pretty special hearing those lyrics sung in front of tens of thousands of screaming fans.
The night before the gig, Swift and Kelce were spotted having dinner together in the Argentine capital. Kelce arrived in Argentina earlier that day. They enjoyed dinner in a private room at Elena restaurant at the Four Seasons Hotel Buenos Aires, following Swift’s Friday night show being postponed due to inclement weather. Reportedly, Swift’s father, Scott Kingsley Swift, was also there.
Kelce’s appearance at the show wasn’t a total surprise. Earlier that week, while talking on the podcast he has with his brother, Jason Kelce, Jason asked, “Got anything you’re looking forward to going to?” Jason, 36, asked. Then, on the show, called “New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce,” Travis replied, “Not really. I might just say f— it and just go somewhere nice, I don’t know. My skin’s getting real pale so I got to go somewhere sunny.” He added that this place would be “closer to the equator.”
Kelce and Swift’s romance was first confirmed when Swift showed up at a Kansas City Chiefs game in Missouri on Sept. 24. Since then, she has attended three more of Travis’ Chiefs games, and the two have been on dates together. They also appeared on the Oct. 15 episode of “Saturday Night Live” together.
Swift arrived back in New York City on Monday (Nov. 14), after performing her three sold-out shows in Argentina. She actually went right from her final performance to the airport, arriving still wearing her blue sequin outfit from the show. Meanwhile, Kelce flew out of South America on Sunday afternoon (Nov. 13) to get back to Kansas City in time for football practice.
Kansas City has a huge game this weekend, as they take on the Philadelphia Eagles. What makes this game extra special for Kelce is that his brother, Jason, plays for the Eagles. Family rivalry, much? While Swift has attended plenty of Travis’ games, she would have to fly from her Brazil shows right to Kansas City to make the next one, so time will tell if it happens.
