The holiday season is in full swing, and the Nela Park holiday lighting tradition will continue at the GE Lighting headquarters in East Cleveland. The event is in its 97th year.

The ceremony will begin at 5 p.m. Friday (Dec. 3) at Nela Park on Noble Road. The public won’t be allowed at the ceremony, but residents may watch the streets.

The 2021 theme is “Holiday Season is in the Air.”

After the lights are illuminated, visitors may walk the park any time through Jan. 3. The display will feature almost 1 million LED lights.

The display will also feature a replica of the National Christmas Tree. GE Lighting is also providing the design and lighting of the National Christmas Tree that resides in Washington D.C. for a 59th year, according to a release.
